Lawyers seeking access to FBI records about Hillary Clinton’s private email server presented the Department of Justice with a dilemma on Monday when they filed a court document that may require the government to turn over the records or admit that the FBI investigation of the Clinton server is criminal in nature.
For once, it is actual good news for preppers, homesteaders and the self-reliant, but it is nothing to take for granted. Those who hold senior water rights and farmers who get the windfall of the water are largely against it, and it has restricted personal freedom until now.
We suspect that as the Democrats continue to turn on its own party members, Trump will enjoy a nice gain in support at least from many Sanders supporters who are pissed off that they are not being heard over the ever important "superdelegate" voices that Hillary covets so much. And of course, Trump isn't wasting any time adding fuel to that fire.
President Obama has pushed the “prepper movement” into high gear, sending millions to buy guns, survival gear and food to live through a “civil war,” according to a nationally known survivalist who calls on Americans to prepare in a new book. Bryce M. Towsley, whose “Prepper Guns” details the best weapons and ammo to survive a political or natural disaster …
I’m not advocating breaking through those long lines in grand acts of civil disobedience (not just yet, anyway). But it is long past time for sick and tired, beleaguered and molested, robbed and overtaxed travelers to demand respect of their own and call out this selfish, security-undermining Big Labor power grab.
The liberal media are all over one part of the Facebook scandal story - and ignoring another. Generally, media have covered the accusations that the social media site is censoring conservative news and sources from their trending news feed. Coincidentally, this is also the part of the Facebook story affecting the media. Potentially a bigger scandal (because it affects more people) is the accusation that Facebook censors individual member pages, blogs, smaller media outlets, and discussion groups reflecting a conservative point of view. Sometimes, the sites are shut down, sometimes they are simply threatened into silence.
Trump's picks include Steven Colloton of Iowa, Allison Eid of Colorado and Raymond Gruender of Missouri. Also on the list are: Thomas Hardiman of Pennsylvania, Raymond Kethledge of Michigan, Joan Larsen of Michigan, Thomas Lee of Utah, William Pryor of Alabama, David Stras of Minnesota, Diane Sykes of Wisconsin and Don Willett of Texas.
This is only the most recent sad example of the many ways in which the nation has lost its way thanks to political correctness and the misguided trend of ignoring common sense in an effort to create a utopian society. We can’t say it’s a good idea for police to patrol more heavily in certain areas because inhabitants of such areas have a higher propensity for criminal activity. We can’t say our wives, sisters and daughters may feel uncomfortable using public restrooms with women who were once, or still are, men. We can’t state that STDs are more likely to affect people who engage in risky sexual activity. We can’t say that people raised with certain archaic beliefs may have a hard time getting along with Western society. And now, the left wants us to believe that we should be comfortable living next door to a guy who openly admits a desire to have sex with children. Disgusting.
You have to take change out of your pockets when you go through airport security, but you’re supposed to pick it back up when you’re done. Turns out those forgotten coins add up to a healthy windfall for the Transportation Security Administration. TSA collected $765,759.15 in unclaimed change in fiscal 2015, twice the amount of change left behind at airports in fiscal 2008.
In this case, and in many others like it which have not been quite as prominent, the foodstamp program also led to criminal abuse of taxpayer funds. What is more troubling is that $13 million is an amount most financial professionals would barely sneeze at. While we applaud the law enforcement involved in this crackdown, we only wish regulators and enforcers demonstrated the same zeal when breaking up criminal cartels which have led to criminal gains that are orders of magnitude greater than the amount under consideration in this particular bust.
It’s not often that we get to say this about things happening on modern college campuses, but Smith’s Trump-focused political science class is a refreshing development for a couple of reasons. First, it’s a sign that there are still colleges in the U.S. which have maintained at least some sanity. That students at the school are even willing to have a conversation about Trump is more than can be said about the easily-triggered snowflakes at some other universities. Just last month, students at Emory University declared they felt “threatened” by the very mention of Trump’s name on campus. But more importantly, the class recognizes that the nation has entered uncharted political territory and that it’s worth talking about how we got here.
It’s yet another reason why women are one of the fastest growing demographics of up and coming concealed carriers. And it’s yet another reason why it’s important to train precisely how you intend to fight. Don’t be victim. Defend yourself.
Standing by and watching a violent crime take place and doing absolutely nothing — that’s a “gun free zone” mentality. Thankfully, at least one off-duty police in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts demonstrated a willingness to intercede and stop it.
Bernie Sanders took another state from Hillary Clinton in the Democratic presidential primaries with a win in Oregon on Tuesday night. Democratic voters also headed to the polls in Kentucky, but that race remains too close to call.
Ever since Sen. Ted Cruz suspended his campaign and Donald Trump essentially secured the Republican nomination, certain elements of Conservative Inc. have been flailing about attempting to promote the idea of a third party challenge to Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton that would more precisely reflect movement conservative pieties. So far, their efforts have not exactly caught fire.
