Army Officer In NJ Denied Concealed Carry Permit Because Terrorist Threats Aren’t Enough Justification
New Jersey won’t even issue a permit to carry to an Army officer tasked with anti-terror operations. That’s the most recent verdict in the appeals case for a lieutenant colonel who was denied a permit to carry because threats against his life due to his occupation did not seem justifiable enough cause to allow a permit to be issued.
This is just a recent taste of New Jersey insanity. The Picatinny Arsenal in Wharton, New Jersey, is home to several task force groups related to developing techniques, tactics, and procedures related to fighting ongoing terrorist operations across the world.
These men and women have to trust that nobody has reason to stop them because the State of New Jersey appears unwilling to allow them to protect themselves.

“None of these threats appear to specifically relate to this applicant — he is in no different position than any other person who is assigned to that facility,” Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said in a Jan. 29 letter to the judge after Col. Russell appealed the police chief’s decision, New Jersey radio station WKXW-FMreported Friday.
That Monmouth County prosecutor has a true cognitive dissonance with the world around him. Perhaps the water supply in New Jersey ought be inspected a bit more closely. A reasonably high ranking Army officer directly assigned to a think-tank group is a high priority target by any standard.
It’s a good thing New Jersey is ready, willing, and able to deploy its vast reserves of police officers to protect this man in the seconds it takes to endanger or end his life. And as for the brave men and women serving in Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey loves your paychecks but must not give a whit about your well-being.
This is a dangerous game New Jersey plays with the men and women in uniform who help protect this great country. Every single person in that judicial oversight ought be reprimanded for not only needlessly putting people in uniform in jeopardy but also denying a basic constitutional right afforded to nearly every other citizen throughout this country.
